STONEWARE CLAY
I throw the majority of my pieces on the wheel, and have chosen a blend of stoneware clays that are as beautiful unglazed as glazed.
Stoneware is fired to a high temperature of 1,250°C and is therefore hardier than lower fired earthenware. It doesn’t chip easily and the products I make are dishwasher and microwave safe though will become hot in the microwave.
GLAZE AND CLAY COMBINATIONS
I’ve chosen to work with glazes that have earthy tones that enhance the clay’s natural beauty. All of the glazes I use are non-toxic after firing and suited for everyday use.
Below are some of the glaze and clay combinations that I work with. This is not a complete list and I try to update it continually but there is sometimes a delay.
For cutom pieces I recoment that you order a test tile which will give you a realistic feel of how the finished product may be. Just drop me a mail and I can send a few samples.
As with all natural materials and small-scale craftmanship there may be subtle variations and nuances in the finished product, even in the same kiln firing. This is a somewhat natural occurrence, and adds to the charm and uniqueness of each individual piece.
NORDIC BLUE GLAZE ON GREY CLAY
The blue tones of Scandinavian White are brought out best with grey clay and is one of my favourite combinations. This is a coarser clay and gives a wonderfully rustic feel.

NORDIC BLUE GLAZE ON RED CLAY
This is one of my favorite combinations as the contrast of icy Nordic Blue Glaze with warm, earthy Red Clay is simply stunning. This is a rustic clay that has some texture to it. I burnish the clay carefully during the trimming stage to compact the clay particles, leaving a smooth texture with character.

NORDIC WHITE GLAZE ON GREY SAND
This is s a subtle, yet stunning combination. Soft shifts in the glaze allow the warm color of the glaze to shine through, like melting snow in the spring. It's neither grey nor fully white and timeless combination.
NORDIC WHITE GLAZE ON WHITE LAVA CLAY
Nordic White produces a lively and fluctuating effect on white lava clay which contains tiny lava particles. A white glaze that tends towards a hint of blue. It tends to lie slightly thinner on rims allowing a glimse of the clay beneath.
NORDIC WHITE GLAZE ON WARM WHITE CLAY
This warm white clay is a smooth clay that is a dream to work with. Nordic White, with it’s blue hues and light coverage perfectly contrast the warm tones in the clay.

NORDIC WHITE GLAZE ON SAND
Smooth to the touch, with warm tones, this clay reminds me of the sandy beaches of southern Sweden. The light coverage of Nordic White glaze allows this beautiful clay to be the star of the show.

MATT BLACK GLAZE ON SAND
Matt black is a sophisticated and elegant glaze that is silky to the touch. Combined with the warm tones of this sand coloured clay, this is one of my favorite combinations to work with! If you look closely you can see an golden glow where the glaze meets the clay!

SNOW WHITE GLAZE ON WHITE CLAY
Simplicity and sophistication summarise this combination! Glossy to the touch with warm white hews, this is a really timeless combination!
